Fairbrook House & Gardens
Set among the atmospheric ruins of the former Fairbrook Mill, dating back to the 18th century, Fairbrook House & Garden is a truly unique and tranquil destination. Nestled along the banks of the River Dawn, this beautifully maintained space combines formal gardens, woodland walks, and historic features to create a peaceful retreat in the Waterford countryside.
Gardens & Grounds
The three-and-a-half-acre formal garden is thoughtfully laid out around the old mill ruins, blending structure with natural beauty. Just across a narrow road, a woodland garden offers a contrasting experience, featuring the impressive walls of what is believed to be Ireland’s only millpond built within such substantial stone structures. Together, these spaces provide a rich and varied landscape to explore at a relaxed pace.
Art, Tea & Experiences
After wandering the gardens, visitors can unwind on the terrace or in the conservatory with a cup of tea, taking in the calm surroundings. Special tea and high tea experiences are also available and can be arranged in advance.
Fairbrook is also home to a small museum and gallery showcasing works by internationally recognised artists. The on-site shop offers a selection of books about Fairbrook, art publications, calendars, postcards, bags, and original pieces for sale.
The venue also caters for small weddings and offers a picturesque setting for wedding photography.
Plan Your Visit
The gardens are open from 1st May to 30th July 2026, with visits by appointment only. The museum and gallery are open year-round, also by appointment. Advance booking is essential to ensure the best possible experience.
