Immrama Festival of Travel Writing
Held each June in the picturesque heritage town of Lismore, the Immrama Festival of Travel Writing is a unique celebration of journeys, storytelling, and cultural exchange. Taking its name from the old Irish word Immrama, meaning “journey,” the festival has been welcoming visitors since 2003 to explore the art of travel writing through a rich and engaging programme of events. The 2026 festival takes place from 11th to 14th June.
A Celebration of Stories & Journeys
Dedicated to the spirit of exploration, Immrama brings together writers, musicians, and performers for a weekend of thought-provoking talks, lively discussions, and memorable entertainment. From literary events to music and cultural performances, the festival offers something for curious minds and creative spirits alike.
A Setting Steeped in Heritage
With its deep historical roots, Lismore provides the perfect backdrop for a festival centred on journeys and storytelling. For centuries, people have travelled to and from this historic town, and Immrama continues that tradition by inviting visitors to begin a journey of their own.
