Sunny South Yeast Bakery & Catering
Sunny South Yeast is an artisan sourdough bakery located on 58 Barrack Street in the heart of Waterford, run by owners David Foskin and Silvia Salvana. They have been named in the McKenna’s Ultimate Guide to Artisan Bakeries 2024 and have been named in the McKenna’s Guides Best In Ireland 2025.
Providing freshly baked sourdough bread, sandwiches and locally supplied coffee from Mean Bean Coffee, you can grab a freshly baked, all natural loaf made from flour, water, a pinch of salt and their sourdough starter, aptly named Clint Yeastwood.
The bakers focus on traditional methods with a modern twist – they are also known for their Belgian chocolate brownies and vanilla slices.
David and Silvia had started as a micro bakery and grown to having their own food truck, finally opening their own retail bakery premises on Barrack Street. They also supply a large range of local businesses with their breads, sandwiches and pastries.
