Waterford’s vibrant food scene was proudly recognised at the Irish Restaurant Awards, with several Visit Waterford members receiving accolades for their creativity, leadership and commitment to exceptional hospitality. The awards, often described as the “Food Oscars” of Ireland, celebrate the very best of the country’s restaurants, chefs and hospitality professionals each year.
This year’s results highlight the strength of Waterford’s culinary offering, from fine dining and world cuisine to café culture and innovative use of social media.
Overall Waterford Winner – Everett’s Restaurant
Located in the heart of Waterford’s Viking Triangle, Everett’s Restaurant continues to build a reputation as one of Ireland’s most exciting dining destinations. Known for its refined modern Irish cuisine and emphasis on seasonal local ingredients, Everett’s took home the top county honour at this year’s awards.
Best Chef – Luis Martin, Mara Restaurant
Chef Luis Martin of Mara Restaurant was recognised for his exceptional culinary talent and innovative approach to modern cuisine. Mara has quickly become one of Waterford’s most exciting restaurants, praised for its bold flavours and creative dishes that celebrate high-quality Irish produce.
Local Food Hero – Eunice Power, AndChips
Dungarvan restaurateur Eunice Power was celebrated as a Local Food Hero. Through AndChips, she has transformed a traditional chipper into a stylish seafood destination, championing sustainable seafood and local suppliers while helping to strengthen Waterford’s reputation as a leading food destination.
Restaurant Manager – Kamila Bystrzonowska, Momo Restaurant
Outstanding hospitality and leadership were recognised through the award for Restaurant Manager, presented to Kamila Bystrzonowska of Momo Restaurant. Momo is known for its welcoming atmosphere and diverse international menu, making it a favourite among locals and visitors alike.
Use of Social Media – The Olive Café
Waterford’s Olive Café received recognition for its creative and engaging use of social media. The café has built a strong community online, sharing vibrant food photography, local stories and updates that connect with customers both locally and beyond.
World Cuisine – Mezze
Mezze Restaurant was honoured in the World Cuisine category. Known for its Mediterranean/Levantine-inspired menu and lively dining atmosphere, Mezze continues to bring global flavours to Waterford’s thriving culinary scene.
