Waterford Walls Festival 2026

Waterford Walls Festival returns from the 7th to 16th of August 2026, transforming Waterford City and its surrounding areas into one of Europe’s most vibrant open-air galleries.

Over ten colourful days, more than 70 local, national, and international artists will create large-scale murals throughout the city, adding new works to Waterford’s ever-growing collection of world-class street art.

Featuring some of the biggest names in the international street-art scene alongside exciting emerging talent, the festival gives visitors a unique opportunity to watch incredible artworks come to life in real time.

Beyond the murals, Waterford Walls presents a packed programme celebrating creativity, urban culture and community. Visitors can enjoy artist talks, panel discussions, film screenings, Draw & Dine experiences, walking tours, workshops, and interactive activities for all ages.

Experience the Festival Hub

Open daily throughout the festival, the Waterford Walls Festival Hub will serve as the heart of the celebrations.

With live painting, DJs, a fully licensed bar, and a lively outdoor atmosphere, it is the perfect place to meet friends, discover new artists, and soak up the energy of the festival.

A major highlight takes place on Saturday, 15th of August, when the annual Waterford Walls Street Party returns to Pocket Park. Expect live painting, breakdancing, music, and family-friendly entertainment throughout the day.

Film Screening: Martha: A Picture Story

Join Waterford Walls at Waterford Gallery of Art on the 11th of August at 7.30 pm for a special screening of Martha: A Picture Story.

The documentary follows photographer Martha Cooper, whose images of graffiti in 1970s New York helped document and inspire the global street-art movement. The screening forms part of Waterford Walls Festival 2026 and Culture Connects, with support from Creative Waterford.

Artist Talk with Mr Cenz

Hear from internationally acclaimed London graffiti artist Mr Cenz as he shares the story of his remarkable creative career.

Known for his vibrant portraits, intricate linework, and distinctive blend of graffiti lettering and surrealism, Mr Cenz will discuss his artistic journey, creative influences and the evolution of his internationally recognised style. The event will also include a live audience Q&A.

Kids Graffiti Workshop

Young artists can explore the colourful world of street art during this fun, hands-on graffiti workshop.

Led by experienced graffiti artists, participants will experiment with lettering, colour, design, and guided spray-paint techniques, while developing their own creative style. No previous artistic experience is required, and all materials will be provided.

Suitable for young people aged 12 -18.

Adults Graffiti Workshop

Discover the foundations of graffiti and create your own original piece of street art during this relaxed and supportive adults’ workshop.

Participants will learn about graffiti culture, lettering styles, colour, composition, and practical spray-paint techniques under the guidance of an experienced artist. The workshop is suitable for complete beginners, and no previous artistic experience is required.
