Sólás na Mara Seaweed Baths

Set on a small working fishing pier in An Rinn (Ring Peninsula), within Gaeltacht na nDéise in Ireland’s Ancient East, Sólás na Mara, meaning Solace of the Sea, is the only traditional seaweed bathhouse in this region.

This family-run business is rooted in place, language, and heritage, drawing on Ireland’s long-standing tradition of seaweed bathing and the restorative power of the ocean. Overlooking a small working fishing harbour, it offers an authentic coastal setting that feels deeply connected to the rhythms of the sea.

Visitors receive a warm Fáilte mór (welcome) before soaking in warmed fresh seawater infused with locally harvested seaweed.

The experience is designed to encourage visitors to truly switch off, to pause, breathe, and absorb the natural therapeutic benefits of the sea. A friendly local team focus on creating an experience that feels genuinely special, with gentle touches that reflect place and culture, including the opportunity to practice cúpla focal (a few words of Irish) along the way.

A cosy café serves homemade treats, a selection of drinks and grazing platters with locally sourced ingredients.
