Valentine’s (or Galentine’s!) Evening Event: Pottery Painting, Shards and Chardonnay

Back by popular demand!

Date: Thursday, 12th February
Time: 6pm – 8pm
Location: The Medieval Museum
Price: €45 per person

Back by popular demand! This February join for a unique evening at the Medieval Museum. Celebrate Valentine’s Day (or Galentine’s!) in style as we enjoy wine and pottery painting. Waterford is a city with a long connection to the wine trade and many pieces from our collection of medieval pottery were once wine jugs. Medieval wine jugs were heavily decorated and beautifully coloured items, emblematic of the luxury trade they represented. During this workshop you’ll create your own exotic piece, painted to your liking.

This unique workshop also comes with a twist, as part of your evening you’ll be given the opportunity to handle real medieval pottery, press your fingers against the fingerprints of the past and hold history in your hands.

Guests will be provided with two glasses of wine (with non-alcoholic options available) and a full kit including a pottery wine mug. Finished pieces will be fired in a kiln to preserve your artwork and we’ll let you know as soon as they’re ready to be collected. No design is too simple or too complicated, the event is beginner friendly and just about having fun.

So come along, make memories, and take home your very own keepsake wine mug to remind you of a Valentine’s celebration you won’t forget!
