National Heritage Week is an annual celebration in Ireland that highlights the country’s rich natural, built, and cultural heritage. Organized by the Heritage Council, the event brings together communities, volunteers, and heritage enthusiasts to share knowledge, culture, and practices through a variety of public events. Many of these events are free to attend and are held in Waterford. National Heritage Week offers a unique opportunity to explore and appreciate Ireland’s diverse heritage. Whether you’re interested in history, nature, or community traditions, there’s something for everyone to enjoy and learn. The theme invites us to delve into the building blocks of our heritage; not just the structures, but the landscapes and cultural activities that have shaped us. Hosts events in Waterford City on the 16 – 24 August 2025
