Immrama Festival of Travel Writing

The Immrama Festival of Travel Writing is an annual literary celebration held in the picturesque heritage town of Lismore, County Waterford. Taking its name from the old Irish word for "voyage," the festival brings together acclaimed travel writers, adventurers, historians, and storytellers for a weekend of captivating talks, discussions, and cultural events. With a warm, intimate atmosphere, Immrama offers audiences the chance to explore real and imagined journeys through words—set against the scenic backdrop of one of Ireland’s most charming towns.

Immrama Festival of Travel Writing is a charming, niche literary event held every June in Lismore, County Waterford, since 2003. The name itself—Immrama—comes from the Old Irish for “voyage,” echoing its focus on adventurous journeys, both literal and literary.
