The Churchyard Sessions 2024

Kicking off from the 1st of June and running throughout the summer up until the 31st of August, the Churchyard sessions take place every Saturday with the historic French Church in the heart of the Viking Triangle serving as a unique backdrop for a wide variety of Irish artists.

The Churchyard sessions not only offer an opportunity to enjoy quality live music but are also free events and this summer will see well known acts, namely Mundy, Paddy Casey, Jerry Fish and The Unusual Suspects take to the stage. From June there will also be a live acoustic set at the Longboat from 8pm every Friday evening.

The sessions take place on Baileys New Street, in the centre of the Viking Triangle near Reginald’s Tower and visitors can enjoy food and drinks in the Reg bar/ restaurant who are partnered with the Churchyard sessions and provide late night music after the event.

These open-air free weekend events attract a great atmosphere in a unique venue at the core of the city. What better way to celebrate the longer summer evenings than guaranteed quality food and drink with a side of musical talent.

If you’re visiting Waterford to come and see the Churchyard sessions, there are great hotel stay options including, The Granville , The Tower and Dooleys Hotel which are all located on the quay, and within walking distance of Baileys New Street.

In recent years, Churchyard sessions have also been hosted as part of Winterval and St. Patrick’s Day festivities.
