One of the great gardens of the world Mount Congreve in County Waterford is set to host a Plant Fair on Sunday, July 25th from 11 am to 5 pm 2021.
The event will offer visitors an opportunity to explore the beautiful award-winning gardens and enjoy food from local stallholders along with meeting the array of expert rare and special plant stallholders from all over Ireland who will be on hand to offer expert advice and sell the very best in trees and shrubs.
Estate Manager Ray Sinnott says, “We are delighted to again host our Plant Fair this year having not had the opportunity to do so in 2020. This will be a really wonderful event and a great opportunity to get something very special for your own garden.”
A plant creche and local food stalls will also be available. Admission is €7 per person (€6 for seniors) and also includes access to the 70 acres of Mount Congreve Gardens.
The world-famous Mount Congreve Gardens consist of 70 acres of spectacularly designed gardens including a four-acre walled garden and 16km of winding walking paths, is home to the largest collection of plants in Ireland and boasts the largest collection of Rhododendrons in the world.
Described as ‘A World of Gardens’ The entire collection at Mount Congreve features plants from every continent in the world consisting of more than 3,000 different trees and shrubs, more than 2,000 rhododendrons, 600 camellias, 300 Acer cultivars, 600 conifers, 250 climbers, and 1,500 herbaceous plants.
The exceptionally beautiful woodland Mount Congreve Gardens are located just 10 minutes from Waterford City Centre, overlooking the majestic River Suir, and are open Tuesday to Sunday each week from 11 am daily, last entry to the gardens daily is 4.30 pm.
