Lismore Heritage Centre is delighted to announce the launch of its new updated website www.discoverlismore.com. The modern new look site was designed by local company Totem, working closely with the team at Lismore Heritage Centre. The site now reflects the modern and exciting offering at Lismore Heritage Centre. The work was enabled through the Fáilte Ireland, Digital That Delivers programme launched in 2021 to help smaller tourism businesses connect with visitors before they arrive in an area and provide up-to-date booking engines, to enable businesses to capture the customer’s interest while they are browsing online.
Mary Houlihan at Fáilte Ireland said: “The digital footprint of a tourism business is one of the most powerful tools for attracting visitors to Ireland. Digitally transforming tourism businesses through Fáilte Ireland’s Digital that Delivers programme, which powers online excellence, will be key to sustaining Ireland as a high-quality and competitive tourism destination into the future. The new discoverlismore.com website will ensure that the brilliant visitor experiences on offer in Lismore can be found, researched and booked with ease by tourists in Ireland and internationally.”
This programme has also provided small tourism businesses with the opportunity to avail of training in how to create content, use of digital online platforms such as Instagram and TikTok, SEO and the back office management of google analytics and google ads.
Commenting on the launch, Oren Byrne, Totem stated “The new design allows for a seamless user journey throughout the site, a vibrant colour palette and the use of spectacular imagery bring the personality and experience of the centre to the fore, highlighting both their cutting edge Virtual Reality tours and the more traditional guided tours.”
To celebrate the launch of the new site and to celebrate 31 years in business, Lismore Heritage Centre have uploaded the original “Lismore Experience” to the video gallery on the new site. This tells the story of Lismore from the arrival of St. Cartage in 636, to the establishment of the University City, through Viking and Norman invasions to modern day times, all told by Neil Toibín in the guise of Br. Declan.
Mealla Fahey, Manager of Lismore Heritage Company said, “We were thrilled to work with a local Dungarvan Company on the development of our new website and we feel this new site now reflects the fantastic offering here at Lismore Heritage Centre that includes our virtual reality and augmented reality Lismore Castle Experience, The Robert Boyle Escape Room, and locally guided town tours. The new website also showcases our extensive education offering and with the amazing photography, it gives visitors a preview of what they can expect when they visit us here, in Lismore.
