The judges said that they were “blown away by how much effort the community had put in to making Waterford a real foodie experience’’. Every year there are multiple festivals in Waterford County that attract food lovers from all parts of the Ireland that share the same love towards food, but unfortunately this year they had to be cancelled.

Momo restaurant offers international cuisine, using the best locally sourced produce, prepared with love and care. They use all their ingredients super fresh and everything is cooked on the spot, never frozen or from a packet. Momo restaurant has won McKennas Guides ‘’Best in Ireland’’ more than couple times so it is definitely worth the visit!

Head Chef Peter is Waterford local who was awarded Eurotoques Young Chef of the Year while he was starting out and working alongside Michael Quinn. The restaurant and the chef have been awarded many times, most recent was 2019 Best Newcomer in Ireland and Best Chef in Munster.

GROW HQ is the home for the GIY movement, open to the public 5 days a week. They grow delicious, healthy seasonal produce in the garden on site. Along with other organic, chemical free, free range ingredients sourced locally, all is prepared in their kitchen to maximise its nutrition and flavour.
They also offer education courses and classes to teach adults, teens and children how to grow their own fruit, veg and herbs, how to harvest it and how to cook it in their demonstration kitchen.
Located in the heart of Waterford City with a local chef and a funky eclectic mix of food and ambiance that might well be described as Mediterranean it is most definitely not a conventional Irish restaurant experience.
