We all know that Waterford county was awarded number one foodie destination in Ireland for 2019. and the sense of community was also praised given the involvement if big and small local companies, along with the awareness of and pride and passion in food and food tourism in the area. The judges said that they were “blown away by how much effort the community had put in to making Waterford a real foodie experience’’. Every year there are multiple festivals in Waterford County that attract food lovers from all parts of the Ireland that share the same love towards food, but unfortunately this year they had to be cancelled.

Momo restaurant

Everett’s Restaurant

 Set in the remains of the 15th century John Collyn House, Everett’s combines fabulous, modern Irish cooking with historic, atmospheric surroundings. Enjoy your meal in The Front Room or The Vault, both perfect for that romantic date or relaxing night over a glass of wine.

GROW HQ

 GROW HQ is the home for the GIY movement, open to the public 5 days a week. They grow delicious, healthy seasonal produce in the garden on site. Along with other organic, chemical free, free range ingredients sourced locally, all is prepared in their kitchen to maximise its nutrition and flavour.

They also offer education courses and classes to teach adults, teens and children how to grow their own fruit, veg and herbs, how to harvest it and how to cook it in their demonstration kitchen.

Bodega restaurant

Located in the heart of Waterford City with a local chef and a funky eclectic mix of food and ambiance that might well be described as Mediterranean it is most definitely not a conventional Irish restaurant experience. Critics and regulars alike acknowledge this place is fun and different with relaxed atmosphere.
