HALLOWEEN GHOSTLY WOODLAND WALK & STORYTELLING
Lafcadio Hearn wrote and translated many Japanese Ghost Stories, his best known book of ghostly tales is ‘Kwaidan’ so there is no doubt the Lafcadio Hearn Japanese Gardens is the perfect setting for a Halloween experience.
We Dare you to visit…..
FOR CHILDREN:
This very popular Halloween experience returns once more to the Lafcadio Hearn Japanese Gardens Tramore. A unique Ghostly Woodland Walk which runs by day and is very much aimed at ‘Little Monsters’.
Families can enjoy a walk through the gardens but beware when you cross the Japanese Bridge and enter the Woodlands. In October, ghouls, witches and skeletons are found lurking here in the undergrowth and high up in the trees. The cold air is filled with eerie sounds and noises coming from secret pathways. A visit to the woodlands at Halloween is perfect for small children who are usually in bed before dark.
FOR ADULTS:
For Adults there will be a special ‘Cotton Thread’ art installlation which will form cobwebs in the Woodlands in a very sustainable way.
There will be plenty of opportunities for fun PhotoOps and Reels for everyone.
STORYTELLING – Adults can discover some of the more famous Japanese Ghost stories from Lafcadio Hearn’s Kwaidan at special storytelling sessions, while Children will hear similar or shortened versions of these classic ghostly tales. Times and storytelling dates will be posted on www.lafcadiohearngardens.
