Now in its third year ‘The LIT Young Writers Festival’ a reading and writing festival for teenagers by teenagers is the brainchild of the WYA (Waterford Youth Arts) Senior Creative Writing group with the goal of getting 15 – 19 Year Olds, both locally and nationally, into the incredible world of literature.

In the last two years many accomplished Authors, Poets and Spoken Word Performers came to Waterford and put on talks and workshops including: Emmet Kirwan, Kevin Barry, Lisa McInerney, Karl Parkinson, Abby Oliveria, Stephen Murray. Dave Lordan, Darren Donohue, Stephen James Smith, Moira Foley-Doyle, Lisa McInerney, Kevin Barry,Érin Fornoff, Conor Kostick, Claire Hennessy, Colm Keegan and Anna Jordan.

The LIT Festival will be back on the 15th and 16th November with many more great writers, poets, spoken word performers and a couple of surprises too. All thanks to a talented bunch of teenagers from the Deise.
